E-Waste Regenerative Classroom – The 'Green Cycle' Enlightenment For 3,000 Rural Children

Form: 2025/4/14 Browse:7 Keywords: Social Responsibility

Project Background:
ChengYu, in collaboration with the China Association of Circular Economy, launched the "Regenerative Planet Initiative," establishing five environmental education hubs in e-waste clusters (Guiyu, Guangdong, and Miluo, Hunan) to address the dual challenges of "waste-encircled villages" and weak environmental awareness among youth.

Social Challenges:

Innovative Solutions:

  1. Scenario-based Curriculum

    • Developed AR interactive courseware "Small Parts, Big Journey" visualizing circuit board recycling processes
    • Designed "Repurposed Phone Succulent Planter" workshops using disassembled battery compartments as planters
  2. Multi-functional Hubs

    • Daytime: Environmental classrooms for students
    • Nighttime: Vocational training for villagers (compliant dismantling techniques, hazardous waste handling)
  3. Incentive System

    • Children earn "Recycle Points" for collecting 1kg e-waste, redeemable for stationery or family health screenings

Social Impact:

Third-party Perspective:
"This project innovatively integrates environmental education, health intervention, and industrial upgrading. Children aren't just learners—they become young ambassadors driving family behavioral change."
